War and Peace

This is not a book or movie review.

This is a response to the madness going on in my home state.

Before I say anything else, I have to say I condemn the senseless violence and death that occurred in the case of Mr. George Floyd. It shouldn’t have happened, and the officers absolutely should be held accountable for their cruel actions.

Honestly, it is disappointing that I even need to say that. I would like to believe that all Americans could agree that this is a horrible act that never should have happened.

Yet as I have watched the recent events unfold, I have seen an equal evil come to light.

Evil repaid with more evil.

Why, suddenly, does injustice provide grounds for more injustice?

Why is it considered acceptable and even encouraged, in some twisted minds, to take out feelings of anger and turmoil on those who have done nothing in incur the wrath of the mob?

The anger is justified; the fear is justified. George Floyd was stripped of basic human decency.

The rioting, the burning, the crime is absolutely not justified.

Crafting destruction in the name of righting the wrong is stupidity of the highest degree.

It is hypocrisy, pure and simple.

We are losing sight of true justice in our pursuit of social justice.

Furthermore, these are not the acts of law enforcement everywhere. Real cops hate these acts just as much as you, for their job is to protect and serve. The occurrence in Minneapolis is a case of exploitation and incompetence and that cop deserves to be arrested and prosecuted.

But, this is one man; four men if we include his squad who stood by and did nothing. We should not get to decide that because of this case, all law enforcement now deserves to be attacked and ostracized.

Men and women all over our country have taken an oath to protect and serve, and that’s what they aim to do.

But because the anger mobs have decided that the best way to stand up for a man who couldn’t is to loot, burn, and destroy, the lives of these dedicated public servants are endangered.

Do you see you idiotic this is?

A man was killed. We should all be disgusted.

But why on earth is the logical response in the minds of so many to create more destruction and unrest? This has already led to the loss of more lives. Minneapolis is literally on fire right now.

This is not right.

But I suppose I should expect nothing less from a world so wrought with sin and evil. Surely, only the lost are promoting this message of unrest and retaliation, right?

Sadly, no. It has become a united cry for the upheaval of society. No call or push for accountability, but an endorsement of the riots is what I see.

Even from followers of Christ.

Jesus tells us to repay evil with good.

That’s not happening.

Jesus tells us to honor those in authority.

That’s not happening.

Jesus tells us to love one another.

That’s not happening.

Jesus tells us to live at peace with one another.

Not happening.

Good cannot come if those who know what is good do not do it.

A far worse outcome results of those who know what is good….do what is not good.

There can be no peace while undeserving men are being suffocated on the streets.

But there can also be no peace while true justice is being suffocated by the pursuit of social justice and foolishness disguised as virtue.
